Section 101 Founder and CEO Liz Leahy will be teaching a one-week intensive to students at Columbia Business School.

Section 101 CEO Liz Leahy will once again co-teach the Lean Launchpad class at Columbia Business School beginning January 8^th. Called “Turning Hackers, Hustlers and Designers into Entrepreneurs,” the course offers real world learning and shows students what it’s like to start a scalable company from the ground up.

In a nutshell, Lean Launchpad is a crash course (5 days!) in start-up success, with an emphasis on testing ideas, talking to consumers/customers, working in groups, listening, and being able to make quick decisions and roll with them. Teams will start their own business by replicating the process in the classroom, and with that comes all the pressures and stresses you would encounter at the early stage of a tech start up. Participants, who can only sign up in teams, will quickly learn if they have what it takes to turn a great idea in to a great company.

As a graduate of Columbia Business School, Liz is right at home at both the University and in instructing the class. “I am excited to teach Lean Launchpad once again. Last time, I learned a lot from the students. My goal is to guide student entrepreneurs to make the right choices so they can take what is hopefully a great idea for a business all the way to achievement.”
