Section 101 Founder and CEO Liz Leahy will be heading to the esteemed Berklee College of Music next week for a speaking engagement with Mike King from Berklee Online as well as participate in a lecture to students in the Introduction to the Music Business class.

Liz will be recording an hour-long chat with Mike King for his online course. While this is a free-form discussion, Liz hopes to share experiences on best practices for the web, career advice for up and coming artists, as well as provide her own back-story on music and brand marketing, entrepreneurship and more.

Mr. King is a course instructor and the Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Recruitment / Chief Marketing Officer at Berklee Online, the online continuing education division of Berklee College of Music. The National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) recognized Mike as the Best Music Business Teacher in 2011.

While visiting the campus Liz will also speak with John Kellogg’s Introduction to the Music Business class.  Liz is passionate about the web and all the doors it can open to independent musicians. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and real-world experience with motivated musicians, many of who are just starting out in a professional capacity.
