Pentatonix were unable to tour as they usually do in October-December of this year, which freed up time for them to write and record their 2^nd album of all original material, The Lucky Ones. This time out the group worked with noted producers Johan Carlsson, Matthew Koma and Dan Book, putting together 11 fresh tracks including “Coffee in Bed,” “Happy Now,” and “Be My Eyes.”  American Songwriter magazine said, “The vocals are tighter, more alluring and commanding, and the lyrics feel more honest and grounded. When you compare the record against their first original LP, 2015’s self-titled, it’s almost night and day.”

The album seems contemplative in nature, as the band reflect on their journey to fame. It’s hard to believe it was 10 years ago that Pentatonix won “The Sing Off,” and started posting videos of their a cappella covers, gathering fans by the thousands. The group has always been in tune with their online presence, and their website, powered by Section 101, is no exception. With videos, photos, tour information and a music player, PTX never goes too long without putting out new music, be it a cover or something original.
