The sixth annual A2IM Libera Awards Presented by SoundExchange will take place in New York City on June 8.  Our client,  Ani DiFranco, whose new Section 101 powered website is launching soon, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Liberas (Latin for “freedom”) support the booming world of indie music, diverse genres and labels both big and small. Taking place at the Playstation Theatre in midtown Manhattan, members of the music community will come together to celebrate the year’s biggest independent success stories as voted by their peers. The Libera Awards cap off A2IM’s Indie Week, which starts on June 5^th in New York City. Featuring interactive panels, workshops, keynote speakers and one-on-one speaker sessions, Indie Week is one of the most notable music industry weeks of the year.

Lifetime Achievement honoree, Grammy winner and feminist icon DiFranco has always been ahead of the curve, starting her own Righteous Babe Records well before any other artist figured out the best way to retain creativity and make money was to employ themselves. DiFranco is gearing up for her 20th release,  her first since 2014, BINARY, out on June 9.
